We were fortunate to have a candidate to initiate during our April meeting. Mr Mark Taylor became our newest Brother in a joyous occasion at the Westwood Masonic Centre. This was followed by a wonderful Festive Board with singing, toasts and much merriment. Our May meeting (Wednesday 20th) will feature another initiation. All Masons welcome.
Craig Brenlund has been installed as Master of the Lodge for the coming year. In a ceremony carried out at the Westwood Masonic Centre, the outgoing Master Colin Bexley placed Craig into the driving seat, despite himself only just being discharged from A&E, only to return later that evening to undergo an operation to remove gall stones.
One of the most important events in the Lodge calendar is the installation meeting, where a new Master is installed. This year, W Bro Colin Bexley is our Master. Pictured here with his Brother in Law W Bro Dominic Websdale and his Father in Law W Bro Eric Philippides after the ceremony. We wish Colin a wonderful year at the helm.
At our April 2024 meeting, Colin Newton was presented with a 50 Year certificate by Assistant Provincial Grand Master Andrew Waddington. In a break from tradition, the citation and presentation was witnessed by family and friends, which allowed Colin's wife Marian to be present. A number of Colin's family also attended. The meeting was followed by a white table dinner attended by over 50 Freemasons, family and guests.
As is our custom, each October we welcome a new Worshipful Master for the coming year. This year, Worshipful Brother Ranjit Chima is taking the helm and guiding us through what we hope will be an enjoyable Masonic year.
